The Future of Luxury Millinery is Sustainable

In a world where fast fashion has long dominated the industry, there is a refreshing change sweeping through the fashion landscape. As consumers, we increasingly realise that great fashion does not have to come at the cost of our planet or the exploitation of workers. It is a realisation that luxury and sustainability can coexist harmoniously. At Folly London, I want to be at the forefront of this revolution, challenging the norms of British Millinery with edgy designs and an unwavering commitment to sustainability.

Folly London is not just another fashion brand; it is a promise of style that does not compromise ethics or the environment. I prioritise sustainable materials such as surplus, upcycled, preloved, and vintage fabrics. This approach not only reduces waste but also promotes circularity in fashion. Selecting materials locally through charity shops, saving them from landfills and using deadstock fabric, blending them with a minimum of new natural fibre fabrics from ethical UK companies. Zero-waste design practices are at the core of my mission, any leftover scrap materials are repurposed or recycled to prevent contributing to landfill waste.

Every product is handcrafted with the utmost care and attention to detail. The 'buy less buy better' philosophy encourages individuals to invest in pieces they truly love and cherish, promoting re-wear, passing them on to future generations, or selling them on. I remain committed and continuously working to reduce my carbon footprint by optimising transportation, logistics, and energy use. Packaging is eco-friendly, using sustainably sourced, recycled cardboard.
