Folly London is reshaping British Millinery, pioneering sustainable and circular millinery fashion, and designing unique pieces by using upcycled preloved and vintage fabrics. I create luxurious statement hats, fascinators and headpieces with a quirky style and vintage glamour.
Growing up in the suburbs of East London, I am a Londoner through and through and love city life, I have a lifelong love affair with Fashion, Art and Design, when at college I spent many many hours at one of my all-time favourite places, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, sketching, drawing and observing all the fabulous artefacts. With Central London on my doorstep, I also have regular stops at another of my favourite places, Covent Garden with Neals Yard, Floral Street and listening to the street performers rallying up the crowds in the plaza.
I love a modern controversial take on things, people being a little bit rebellious, Salvador Dali, Picasso, Vivienne Westwood, Helena Bonham Carter, Baz Lurhman, Paloma Faith and one of my absolute favourite characters is Jodie Comer's portrayal of Killing Eve's Villanelle. My conception of art, design and textiles, with an engineering mind, allows me a free spirit to create.
I have always been creative, with a wild imagination and a curiosity to explore. I decided when I was aged about 6, that I wanted to be a designer, to many people this would appear odd or unusual, but to me, it was and still is everything. Having always embraced my individuality and have never followed the crowd with a strong sense of self-awareness, confidence in my style, and a positive aura, my lifelong love affair with Fashion, Art and Design inspires my unique products.
From my designs to the making, packing orders and marketing, you will find me, so when you book, it will be me and only me you deal with. I want to make the process of booking and choosing a headpiece as easy and stress-free as possible and more than anything provide you with superb customer service as well as a glorious headpiece.
I am championing the power of empaths and introverts, being a creative thinker and enjoying expressing myself innovatively through my work, I live in my head where my imagination and passion can run wild. I love sketching new ideas buzzing around, sometimes just a quick scribble or shape and applying my engineering mind to picture how to construct the design piece by piece, using this alone time to gain energy and momentum. Introversion is not about being shy, quiet, or awkward to name a few of the misconceptions, it's about how you respond to stimulation, you feel most alive switched on most capable when in quieter low key environments and process information internally. I am a strong successful businesswoman, championing the power of empaths and introverts, to stop the stigmatism, most introverts prefer not to step into the spotlight but we need more role models to stand up and be accounted for.
